Have you either received a request to take the Weekly Pulse and are not sure what to expect or simply interested in learning more about the module? Well, you are in the right place! This article will explain what the Weekly Pulse is, its purpose, how to use it, and what makes it special. Let's dive in.

What is a Weekly Pulse?

We're glad you asked! In short, it is a tool that measures how the week went. This provides valuable feedback to make the organization better, healthier, and more effective through improving alignment, celebrating the wins, and giving insight into how to mitigate what did not go well in the future to improve the experience for everyone involved.

How Do I Use It?

Once set up as a participant, you will receive an email the following Friday asking you to rate how your week went. Check out what to expect below:

Once you select the option to "Rate the Week", you will be presented with the following screen:

Let's break down each component.

The Prompt

The Weekly Pulse captures how the week went by asking three questions with a final request to rate your week. The three questions are:

1) What went well this week?

2) What did not go well this week?

3) What can improve next week?

Lastly, you get to rate the week overall.

The I/We Toggle

Right below the question, we ask you to select whether the best part of your week came from you or the entire team. For the example below, if what went well this week was that the team achieved progress on a major task, move the toggle to the right. If the best part of the week was your individual contribution, move the toggle to the left.

The Response

For each question, you will be given four options to select from. Since you can only select one, choose the item that best fits the question. So even if you hit the weekly objectives, but the best part of the week was the progress achieved on a major task or goal, select that option.

Impact

Now that you have selected your answer to what went well this week, you get to rate the impact it had on your week. The greater the impact, the further you will move the dial to the right. For the example below, achieving progress on a major task was very impactful with a score of 92 out of 100.

Putting it All Together

Combining each step looks like the following:

Once you complete the question, select "Next" to move to the next question. After the three questions and your overall rating of the week, you will be brought to your Results Overview page that summarizes and contextualizes your personal results along with some insight into how to make next week even better.
